Delkin Devices Inc. Announces SPAN™ Extended Life Cycle Industrial Storage Product Line
Date:12/10/2012

San Diego, CA (PRWEB) December 10, 2012

Delkin Devices, Inc., a leading supplier of industrial solid state storage products, announced the launch of a new line of memory cards with extended life cycles that will be produced for up to ten years. This new product line, to be called SPAN™ (for Sustained Product Availability NAND), will be available in CompactFlash (CF) and Secure Digital (SD) form factors, in densities ranging from 128MB up to 4GB. SPAN products are focused on the medical, automotive, military and other industrial vertical markets where long project life cycles are common and change management is especially critical.

Delkin has partnered with Micron Technology and Hyperstone to develop the SPAN product line, utilizing SLC NAND flash built in US fabs from Micron’s Product Longevity Program (PLP) and CPU’s from Hyperstone’s line of proven, industrial-grade PATA and SD flash controllers. SPAN CF and SD cards are 100% designed, assembled and tested in the USA, at Delkin’s Poway, California manufacturing facility.

“A controlled bill of materials has always been a cornerstone of Delkin’s value proposition, but the SPAN line gives our customers an option never before available,” stated James Grassman, Delkin’s VP of Sales and Business Development. “In a world where die shrinks are occurring more rapidly than ever, we are able to deliver a consistent solution for up to ten years. This saves our customers time and money, eliminating multiple storage re-qualifications throughout a project lifecycle.”

“Micron is proud to support Delkin Devices and their Industrial Storage Product Line with Micron NAND flash devices. Micron’s Product Longevity Program (PLP) represents an evolution in the NAND market; one that embraces the concept that long term support for storage devices is valued at our customers and their end markets,” stated (name), (title) at Micron Technology, Inc.

“Hyperstone has earned a reputation for highest reliability along with stable, long term supply. Our Flash memory controllers are a natural fit for the SPAN product line,” stated Jim Phillips, Hyperstone’s Vice President of Sales for the Americas.
