According to the United States Bureau of Labor Statistics, the Healthcare industry is expected to generate nearly 3 million jobs in the United States by 2018. Individuals, who earn degrees in nursing or health sciences, are preparing themselves to enter the fastest growing job industry in America.

(Vocus) May 25, 2010 -- According to the United States Bureau of Labor Statistics, the Healthcare industry is expected to generate nearly 3 million jobs in the United States by 2018. Individuals, who earn degrees in nursing or health sciences, are preparing themselves to enter the fastest growing job industry in America.

Degrees in Nursing and healthcare education are a viable option for students due to the expected growth in the healthcare industry, an industry that is expected to create more jobs in the near future than any other industry. Salary and wage employment is expected to increase approximately 22 percent through 2018, while salary and wage employment in all other industries combined are expected to grow 11 percent in the same period.

“The nation is facing the most devastating shortage of registered nurses in our country and by all projections we will endure this shortage for many years,” said Anne McNamara, Dean of Grand Canyon University’s College of Nursing. “This offers an opportunity to those with the talent, commitment and intelligence to earn a degree in nursing and invest in a life long career of caring.”
