Deadline Extended for Essay Submissions to the FSDDS Sun Defense Essay Contest Throughout Florida Elementary Schools

The FSDDS is working on this initiative in conjunction with the Florida Association for Media in Education (FAME), who has endorsed the FSDDS contest as a part of their statewide information literacy campaign. Miriam Needham, the current president of FAME and an Ocala-based media specialist, has been surprised at the incredible word-of-mouth support that is being given to the contest. "We are encouraging the general public to get involved by contacting the library media specialist at any of your local elementary schools and encouraging them to please join us in this great project. We have had such a great response so far for such a great cause," stated Needham.
