DePuy Pinnacle hip lawsuit (http://www.depuypinnacle-lawsuit.com/) claims involving a metal-on-metal version of the hip replacement system continue to mount in the federal multidistrict litigation now underway in U.S. District Court, Northern District of Texas, Bernstein Liebhard LLP reports. According to a Master Case List issued by the Court on September 3rd, at least 4,880 DePuy Pinnacle lawsuits have been filed in the proceeding since it was first established in May 2011.

DePuy Pinnacle Lawsuits
According to court documents, all of the DePuy Pinnacle lawsuits pending in the Northern District of Texas involve a version of the Pinnacle hip system that utilizes the Ultamet liner. Plaintiffs allege that this design suffers from similar flaws that resulted in DePuy Othropaedics' worldwide recall of its ASR hip replacement line in August 2010. Among other things, Pinnacle hip lawsuit plaintiffs question whether the all-metal Pinnacle should have been recalled as well.
