DePuy Pinnacle Lawsuit News: Bernstein Liebhard LLP Notes Issuance of New Order in Federal DePuy Pinnacle Hip Litigation

DePuy Pinnacle hip lawsuits (http://www.depuypinnacle-lawsuit.com/ ) continue to move forward in a federal multidistrict litigation now underway in U.S. District Court, Northern District of Texas, Bernstein Liebhard LLP reports. According to an Order issued on July 30, 2013, the Court has scheduled the litigation’s next conference for September 10, 2013 at 2:30 p.m., CST. Among other things, the conference will address the selection of DePuy Pinnacle lawsuits for the litigation’s bellwether trials. (In re: DePuy Orthopaedics Inc. Pinnacle Hip Implant Product Liability Litigation, MDL No. 2244; N.D. Texas)

Court documents indicate that more than 4,400 DePuy Pinnacle lawsuits have been filed in the Northern District of Texas. The proceeding’s first bellwether trials are expected to begin in the fall of 2014. All of the lawsuits pending in the federal Pinnacle litigation allege that the all-metal version of the device, which utilizes the Ultamet liner, caused the recipient to suffer significant complicati
