STMicroelectronics Integrates Dblur's Software Lens(TM) Technology Into its

Image Sensors

HERZLIYA, Israel, February 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Dblur, the developer of Software Lens(TM) technology, today announced a strategic cooperation with STMicroelectronics (NYSE:STM), to bring to market products that integrates Dblur's Software Lens(TM) technology into STMicroelectronics' sensor and camera module products.

The product portfolio should include a 3.2Mp, 1.75microm sensor to be released later in the year.

STMicroelectronics entered into a licensing agreement with Dblur to implement Dblur's technology in STMicroelectronics' product offering, enabling them to offer competitive sensors that meet the demanding performance and cost requirements from camera phone vendors.

"The integration of Dblur's technology into our sensors is perfectly timed to meet the growing demand from camera phone vendors for this technology" says Eric Aussedat, General Manager, Imaging Division, STMicroelectronics. "The technology enables smaller, low-cost, high-quality camera modules and is well suited for future wafer-scale optics and assembly technologies," he adds.

ST plans to support the various Software Lens(TM) optics including: wide apertures (low F#) for increased indoor use and low light camera performance, for both fixed and Auto-Focus cameras; Extended Depth-of-Field (EDoF) that enhances the camera's in-focus range from business card and bar-code scanning to best infinity; and low profile lens with up to 30% reduction in optical lens/zoom height.

Eran Katz, CEO of Dblur Technologies commented, "With this agreement, STMicroelectronics and Dblur will be in a very strong position to respond to th
