Data Devices International Announces the Introduction of the DataGauss Hard Disk Drive and Magnetic Media Degausser
Date:4/17/2013

(PRWEB) April 17, 2013

Data Devices International, Inc. announces the introduction of the new DATAGAUSS hard disk drive and magnetic tape degausser. The DATAGAUSS is a powerful, compact, automatic, and continuous duty degausser which automatically ejects the hard disk drive when completely and securely degaussed. It uses state of the art pulse discharge technology to achieve a complete and secure erasure. Media that can be erased includes both Hard Drives that use Perpendicular and Longitudinal recording techniques up to 5000 Oersted's and all common backup magnetic media.

The DATAGAUSS is a table top, chamber degausser, which focuses on designing completely safe operation. It is effective and easy-to-use and assures completely automatic processing. Operators simply slide the safety catch and the lid lifts up automatically. This newly-designed machine operates with a continuous 24/7 duty cycle and a fast 45 second completion cycle. It will completely degauss up to 70 drives per hour.

“This brand new degausser is extremely easy to use,” said David Partridge, President of Data Devices International, Inc. “Throughout the whole erase cycle the onboard processor monitors the erase procedure, ensuring that the “fail-safe” operation is completed securely and efficiently. The operator is immediately alerted to any interruptions in the cycle by messages on the LCD control panel.”

The machine is extremely quiet and ideal for office operation. The operator places the disk drive into the degaussing compartment and securely closes the lid. The erase cycle is started by pressing the 'erase' button on the control panel which activates the charging of the powerful degaussing magnetic field. When the display says the degauss cycle is complete, the lid can be easily opened. The drive "pops up" from the machine to make discard extremely simple. The entire process takes just 45 seconds.

Throughout the entire erase cycle the onboard processor monitors the erase procedure ensuring that it is completed securely and efficiently. The operator is immediately alerted to any interruptions in the cycle by messages on the LCD control panel. This panel provides complete control and secure operation of the machine. It meets compliance standards for all government mandates requiring complete elimination of sensitive information stored on magnetic media.
