Dallas’ Park Cities Pet Sitter Continues to Provide Pet Sitting Service Despite the City’s Virtual Shutdown Due to a Severe Ice and Snow Storm
Date:12/6/2013

ndancies so that on days where electricity and cell phone service are down or are spotty, they can still provide the service their customers expect. Ms. White says, “We use a hosted voice mail system, email and cellular service to communicate with our sitters and clients all year round, so that if one of these key systems is down or is working sporadically, we can still communicate via the other channels. Likewise, we have electronic profiles of our clients and identical backup paper copies of them in case electricity is down and we need to have specific information about them or their pets. Likewise, our sitters have electronic access to their daily schedules, and are also directed to make paper copies of their schedules as well when we know inclement weather is coming and electricity could be compromised.”

Ms. White says that all of these system backups might appear tedious on a “normal” day, but are appreciated by both sitters and clients alike when Mother Nature impedes our regular ways of communication. “Park Cities Pet Sitter is a 365-day-a-year business caring for beloved family animals. Our sitters venture out into the roads and into bad weather on days when most people would choose to stay home, so we have to be sure we can communicate with each other and our clients despite the technology breakdowns that often occur with bad weather. Multiple backups in all important business areas are critical, because we have many people and their pets relying on us!”

Dallas’ weekend weather forecast currently calls for light, freezing drizzle through Saturday, with temperatures potentially increasing to above freezing on Sunday.

Park Cities Pet Sitter, Inc. has served the Dallas area 7 days a week, 365 days a year since 1992. Pet sitting, daily dog walks, pet taxis, overnight sitting
