Procter & Gamble Brings Clinically Proven Probiotic to Store Shelves

CINCINNATI, Nov. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Procter & Gamble (P&G) today announced that Align, a probiotic supplement new to store shelves, will now be sold in St. Louis, Cincinnati and Dallas. Align is a daily probiotic supplement -- a source of healthy bacteria that builds and maintains a natural defense against a full range of episodic digestive upsets, such as constipation, diarrhea, abdominal discomfort, urgency, gas and bloating*. Align is the only probiotic supplement that contains Bifantis(R) (Bifidobacterium infantis 35624), a natural probiotic strain clinically proven to help restore the balance of healthy bacteria in the digestive system.

"This is great news for the people of Dallas," says Robin Plotkin, RD, LD. "Align gives people the freedom to live their lives by strengthening their system's natural defense against episodic digestive upsets and helping them to build and maintain strong, healthy digestive systems."

Bifantis has been rigorously tested and the data gathered from clinical trials validated its efficacy as a probiotic that can be helpful to the digestive system.

"We are very excited that Align will be more widely available to consumers with episodic digestive upsets," said Kristin Harper, Align Brand Manager. "At P&G, we are committed to advancing research and gaining a better understanding of digestive functioning. Probiotic supplements provide a different way of addressing digestive problems by supplying a consistent level of the specific bacterial strain that has been proven to build up healthy intestinal function over time."

Where to find Align

In addition to being sold in select stores in St. Louis, Cincinnati and Dallas, Align is available nationally at any pharmacy counter. Align can also be ordered online at http://www.AlignGI.com or by phone at 1-800-208-0112.
