Dahryn is going to deliver her discourse on “The Necessity of Stress in Everyday Life” during the regularly scheduled Master Community Call on Tuesday, July 23rd, 2013 from 9:00-10:30 PM EST. According to Dahryn, all animals have a stress response, which can be life saving in certain situations. The nerve chemicals and hormones released during a time of stress prepare the body for “flight or fight.” In a dangerous situation, the body system reacts by quickening its pulse, breathing faster, tensing muscles, and the brain utilizes more oxygen and increases its activity. Ultimately, the immune system is boosted for that period of time, which helps one to survive. After the threat has passed, the body acts to calm the system and return it to its normal state of function.

When stress is prolonged, it becomes chronic stress, and is the main cause for fast aging, recurrent depression, anxiety, stroke, heart attack, headaches, high-blood pressure, chest pain, infection, chronic aches and pains, skin rashes, loss of sleep, chronic fatigue, etc… People are highly afraid of stress because it can cause irritability and anger, which disturbs familial and business relationships, reduces their productivity and ability to focus and negatively affects their libido and sex performance. On the contrary, no stress is equally harmful because that results in lethargy and laziness, a lack of alertness and awareness about the surroundings, no vision for the future, and the inability to recognize and respond quickly to the opportunities in life. That’s why, again and again, many people lose opportunities and are unable to flourish and grow, leading to a life filled with struggle and discontentment.
