Da Vinci Robot Lawsuit News: Bernstein Liebhard LLP Notes Growing Number of Da Vinci Surgery Lawsuit Filings

As Bernstein Liebhard LLP continues to investigate da Vinci robot lawsuits (http://www.davincirobotlawsuithelp.com/) on behalf of individuals who allegedly sustained serious injuries in surgical procedures involving the da Vinci Surgical System, the Firm notes that the number of such claims filed against Intuitive Surgical, Inc. has continued to rise. According to a report from Bloomberg.com, the company is now named in at least 50 da Vinci surgery lawsuits, all of which allege injuries in robotic surgeries.*

According to a regulatory filing Intuitive Surgical issued last week, the 50 da Vinci robot lawsuits pending against the company include one class action complaint filed on behalf of patients who were allegedly injured by the robotic surgery platform at a single Louisiana hospital. All of the claims allege that Intuitive Surgical failed to adequately disclose and/or misrepresented the potential risks and/or benefits of the da Vinci Surgical System. The filing also indicated that Intuitive has entered into tolling agreements in certain claims that delay the statute of limitations for three to six months, in order to “provide the parties and t
