DSS Research Announces Senior Health Risk Assessment Tool
Date:1/9/2008

Survey data can reduce healthcare costs by aiding in senior health and

wellness

FORT WORTH, Texas, Jan. 9 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- DSS Research, a leader in market research for the health insurance industry, today announced the release of the latest version of its Senior Health Risk Assessment (SrHRA(TM)) for the 65 and over population. SrHRA provides proven health risk stratification measures based on self-reported information and identifies high risk seniors with a range of chronic conditions who can benefit from participation in targeted disease management programs, thereby improving their quality of life and reducing health care costs. The tool also enables carriers to comply with CMS requirements for HRA administration to new MA members.

SrHRA can be administered by phone, mail, self-administered paper surveys in provider offices, touch-screen kiosk or internet survey. The measures support predictive modeling and DSS has national norms available for users. DSS provides full risk stratification in comparison to norms for your population, comparisons to RAF scores and other detailed analyses. Results can be delivered in hardcopy or interactive web reporting. Seniors with chronic conditions and various risk factors can, of course, be recruited for various programs designed to help them manage those conditions.

DSS has been working in the health risk assessment area for nearly 20 years. Over that period, DSS has administered hundreds of thousands of HRA surveys to health plan members and provider patients. The work has enabled DSS to relate HRA survey results to claims and clinical data and to identify those questions that are truly predictive of risk, providing the insurer with accurate, useful data on which to base decisions.
