HARRISBURG, Pa., Nov. 10 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Department of Environmental Protection released reports today showing that all of the 76 mammography facilities it inspected during the third quarter of this year are operating within the guidelines set forth by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
DEP inspects each of Pennsylvania's approximately 400 certified mammography facilities annually under a contract with FDA, which sets standards for these facilities under the federal Mammography Quality Standards Act.
The inspections help to ensure that this sophisticated equipment is maintained and operated properly.
