Located in Atlanta, GA, Cumberland Mall opened in 1973 and then was renovated and expanded in 2006. Yet, the mall never had a play area until the new one opened on March 16, 2013.
According to Logan, the indoor playground was an obvious next step for the mall, which is always seeking ways to serve the Atlanta community.
“In the community we serve, we see professionals in the office parks and families in nearby residential areas. We are constantly reviewing opportunities and adding and enhancing amenities to better serve these key consumer segments,” she says.
Cumberland Mall also recently added free wi-fi throughout the shopping center, as well as soft chairs where professionals can take a lunch break and get work done while they eat.
Additionally, the center added the new playground, which was designed, manufactured and installed by Playtime, LLC, a commercial playground manufacturer and the global provider of unique, interactive, soft play areas and playground equipment for indoor, outdoor and water play.
“We really take pride in being a key shopping and dining destination for families in this area,” says Logan. “The new play area fits perfectly into our goal of creating the best possible shopping environment for visitors.”
Since opening, the aquatic-themed indoor playground has been continuously busy with children, Logan says.
“The new play area represents our commitment to and appreciation for our shoppers, and will provide hours of fun for children in this community for many years to come.”
