Insurance Commissioner Steve Poizner Will Present Keynote Address at the 6th Annual California Workers' Comp Forum, October 29-31, 2008 in Huntington Beach. This event is open to the public and brings together over 500 of California's workers' comp professionals for 3 days of breaking news, lively discussion, and networking.

Huntington Beach, CA (PRWEB) September 10, 2008 -- Council on Education in Management (Council) announced that Insurance Commissioner Steve Poizner will present a Keynote Address at the upcoming [California Workers' Comp Forum], October 29-31, 2008, taking place at the Hyatt Regency in Huntington Beach. This annual event features over 25 cutting-edge sessions, including enlightening keynote sessions, case study success stories, lively panel discussions, and interactive workshops that will focus on cost-containment solutions and straightforward answers to vital California workers' comp issues. Over 400 workers’ comp professionals from across the state have already registered to attend the 2008 event.

Insurance Commissioner Steve Poizner will provide an update on the progress of the Department of Insurance, with emphasis on the critical issues impacting stakeholders in the [workers’ comp] system. He will focus on the initiatives that the Department has implemented this year and what goals have been identified for 2009.

Lori Kammerer, Conference Chair, noted: “When hundreds of [workers’ comp stakeholders gather in Huntington Beach], the results of the 2008 legislative session will be in and we will kick off our program with critical legislative updates and progress reports from the Department of Industrial Relations, Department of Insurance, and the California Legislature. Over 60 leading experts will deliver information-packed sessions focusing on solutions to continuing workers’ compensation challenges in California.”

The event has been approved for 12.5 credit hours toward PHR and SPHR recertification through the Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI). Each half-day workshop has been approved for 2.75 credit hours.

The event has also been approved for 15 CEUs for insurance adjusters.
