Corporate Wellness Firm Limeade Receives SAS 70 Type II Report
Date:2/16/2010

Report confirms that Limeade is in compliance with SAS 70 recommended best practices related to internal controls.

Bellevue, WA (PRWEB) Feb. 12, 2010 -- Limeade, a leading provider of corporate health, wellness and productivity solutions, announced today that the company has received its completed SAS 70 Type II report. Receiving this report affirms that Limeade successfully maintains internal controls related to the confidentiality, integrity and availability of Limeade systems and data. The SAS 70 Type II is an internationally recognized auditing standard developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).

“Our customers are high-performance companies, with valuable brands built on trust. We treat this trust as sacred,” noted Erick Rivas, Limeade chief technical officer and vice president of development. “Handling confidential employee health and productivity information in a cloud computing world presents real challenges. We see a lot of business opportunity in meeting those challenges head on.”

Limeade considers this report a testament to the company’s compliance with the HIPAA Security and Privacy Rules as well. SAS 70 Type II reports are increasingly required for vendors serving public and private companies in the banking, health care and high-tech industries. Employers are requiring that vendors provide evidence, in the form of a SAS 70 Type II report, that the vendors’ internal controls related to the processing of customer data are up-to-date, and are designed and operating effectively. The Type II report includes detailed testing of controls over a six-month period.

“At Limeade, we have dedicated ourselves to ensuring data safety,” said Rivas. “This voluntary examination in which we participated provides our high-performance employer customers and their employees the confidence that their data is treated with the utmost confidentiality, security and integrity.”

Limeade will participate in a SAS 70 Type II audit each year. The SAS 70 report addresses the five components of internal control outlined in the Sarbanes-Oxley legislation: the control environment, risk assessment activities, control activities, information and communication systems, and monitoring activities.
