Convection Cooled 150-Watt Open Frame Power Supply Meets Medical and Industrial Safety Standards

CHICAGO, March 18 /PRNewswire/ -- International Components Corporation (ICC), an established global leader in designing and manufacturing portable rechargeable systems, today launched a new series of high-efficiency AC-DC open-frame, single output power supplies. The new 150-watt series, designed for both industrial (FSA150) and medical applications (MSA150), delivers an industry-leading converter efficiency of up to 94% and an industry-leading power density of 9.8 watts per cubic inch. The compact series is offered in a 3 x 5 open-frame design and can be used in 1U applications. The MSA150 and FSA150 are the latest addition to the company's rapidly expanding portfolio of high-efficiency, high-reliability power supplies.

Maintaining the company's commitment to premium design, both the MSA150 and FSA150 series feature 150 watts of continuous output power with convection cooling which rises to 180 watts of continuous output power with just 100 LFM of forced air. This high-reliability series offers active power factor correction of .97 to minimize input harmonic current distortion and ensure compliance with the international EN61000-3-2 standard. The 150-watt series also delivers a long hold-up time for reliable operation at more than 25ms at any input voltage. No minimum load is required for the unit to start up and maintain stated specifications.

The power supplies are comprehensively protected against over-voltage, over-temperature, and short circuit conditions and demonstrated mean time between failure exceeds 200,000 hours. The units operate at full power from 0 to + 50 degrees C and up to + 70 degrees C with derating. Both the MSA150 and FSA150 series feature a universal input range of 85 to 264 VAC enabling use in any part of the world.
