Conseco Announces Call on Investment Portfolio Supplement

CARMEL, Ind., Sept. 8 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Conseco, Inc. (NYSE: CNO) will host a conference call to discuss its Investment Portfolio Supplement on Thursday, September 18, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. Eastern Daylight Time.

On August 18, 2008, Conseco issued the supplement to provide a more detailed description of the company's investment portfolio as of June 30, 2008.

A copy of this supplement can be accessed through the Investors section of our web site as follows: ( http://investor.conseco.com/phoenix.zhtml?c=98529&p=irol-presentations ).

The format of the call will include a brief introduction from Conseco's Chief Investment Officer, Eric Johnson, and will then go into a Question and Answer format on the supplement.

The conference call will begin at 10:00 a.m. Eastern Daylight Time on Thursday, September 18, 2008. To participate, please dial (888) 251-7470 or (706) 679-1704 at least five minutes before the call start time. The operator will ask you to identify yourself and your company, and will also ask for the conference ID, which is "63942985."
