Congratulations Congresswoman Maxine Waters for Being Named Co-chair of the Alzheimer’s Task Force;* Now it is Time to Broadly Implement the Treatment that Reverses and Stabilizes this Disease
Date:9/10/2013

(PRWEB) September 10, 2013

The history of medicine is replete with examples of breakthrough treatments languishing, broadly under-utilized for decades. Consider the local anesthetic procaine, which is still in use today. Procaine was invented in 1904 yet most U.S. dentists continued to fill teeth and even do root canals with no anesthesia until the mid 1940s. Today history is repeating with Alzheimer’s disease. Although the casual internet surfer can watch YouTube, read medical journal articles, news reports and even watch a 60 Minutes TV episode documenting the effective reversal of Alzheimer's disease, finding a local physician to administer a simple subcutaneous injection of the common arthritis drug Enbrel is nearly impossible. In 1904 dentists administering injections to the mouth was a novel idea that played well for cartoonists and comedians. Today a physician treating Alzheimer’s disease by administering an injection to the back of the neck is similarly novel but no less of a breakthrough than dentists administering procaine in 1904.

Maxine Waters, we the physicians of Neurological Wellness Center congratulate you and call upon you to facilitate the widespread implementation of this treatment. In his recent State of the Union speech Barack Obama issued a call to “unlock the answers to Alzheimer’s.” Neurological Wellness Center physicians Rolando Hernandez M.D., Augusto Ramirez M.D. Eugenia Siezar M.D. and Meylin Acuna M.D. routinely witness the restoration of memory and cognitive function. The perispinal administration of Enbrel as an Alzheimer’s disease treatment is meeting critical unmet medical needs, enhancing and extending life as well as reducing or eliminating assisted living expenses. The five FDA approved drugs for Alzheimer’s only slow the progression of the disease and do nothing to restore memory or cognitive function.

Implementing the treatment detailed in Perispinal etanercept: a new therapeutic paradigm in neurology by Dr. Tobinick has enabled some severely impaired persons needing full time assisted living care who are unable to recognize their own children or even count to ten, after a series of twelve doses over twelve weeks, to recognize their children and count to ten with ease. This restoration of memory and cognitive functions continues to build during the series of injections. “After three months of weekly injections, this individual may be able to regain the degree of independence and the lifestyle that they enjoyed up to three years earlier," said Rolando Hernandez, M.D., neurosurgeon for Neurological Wellness Center.

The prescription drugs utilized in the 12-week therapeutic treatment regimen that Neurological Wellness Center physician Rolando Hernandez, M.D., advises will cost about $800 per month. The good news is that drugs usually are included in Medicare plans. “Although there are a wide range of treatment outcomes, most people with Alzheimer’s will need just one dose every 10 to 14 days long term to maintain stable function. This will cost on a cash pay basis $450 to $625 per month,” said Dr. Hernandez.

The drug needed to facilitate this reversal of Alzheimer’s disease and enabling a life-changing recovery of memory and cognitive function is the widely prescribed, heavily advertised Amgen/Pfizer drug Enbrel. Enbrel is most commonly prescribed as a treatment for rheumatoid arthritis, an inflammatory disease of the joints. “Many of the impairments experienced by people with Alzheimer’s disease, , are caused by excess inflammation in the brain. Once this excess inflammation is attenuated, the individual experiences a rapid recovery. This recovery extends to memory, mood, speech and physical function”, states Dr. Hernandez. In 2011 a reporter asked Neurological Wellness Center physician, Meylin Acuna; “Most medical experts who have studied Alzheimer’s disease feel that the loss of memory and cognitive function is the result of a buildup of amyloid-beta plaques and tau proteins in the brain. Do these Enbrel injections rid the brain of these harmful agents?”

Dr. Meylin Acuna: “No. Amyloid plaques are an irritant that results in a cycle of inflammation. It is the body’s responses that cause most of the impairments we see. Let me use an example most people are familiar with. Suppose one is exposed to a noxious vapor or odor and soon develops a headache. What happened was that inhaled molecules of a noxious chemical got into the person’s blood and entered the brain, producing an irritation. Noticing a headache, this person takes an ibuprofen and within minutes the headache is gone. Did the ibuprofen remove any of these noxious chemicals from the blood or brain? No. The ibuprofen reduced the body’s inflammatory response and the headache disappeared. In much the same way, Enbrel injections disrupt this escalating and self-perpetuating cycle of inflammation that is Alzheimer’s disease, resulting in a rapid restoration of mental faculties.”

Why has mainstream media failed to report on this amazing breakthrough? “Actually they have but only to a limited extent. The TV show 60 Minutes ran an excellent piece featuring a remarkable recovery of an Australian man with Alzheimer’s in October 2011. This show has aired in Australia and New Zealand but not in the United States

Augusto Ramirez, M.D., Director of Neurological Wellness Center, a private medical group in Managua, Nicaragua, authorized this press release.

The drug Enbrel is available now. Enbrel received FDA approval in 1998. Its safety profile is well understood. To enroll in a hands-on instructional course on perispinal injections, visit http://www.reversealzheimersnow.com.
