Concentra Opens On-Site Medical Unit at World Trade Center Site
Date:9/7/2007

ADDISON, Texas, Sept. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Concentra ("Concentra" or the "Company"), a leader in on-site employer health care, recently established an on-site medical clinic at the construction site of the former World Trade Center in New York. The clinic offers construction workers a convenient way to treat work related injuries.

Concentra clinicians at the World Trade Center site treat construction personnel, building partners, and other individuals that are involved in the construction efforts at the site for any non-emergency issues, such as minor cuts and dust particles blown into the eyes. The on-site medical office was created in coordination with American International Group and Aon at the direction of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.

Mary Regina Shane, RN knows first-hand the destruction of 9/11, having survived the terrorist attacks at the World Trade Center. During the 1993 car bombing on the WTC site and again in 2001, Shane worked in the Twin Towers as an associate for Verizon. Now a registered nurse for Concentra, Shane has returned to the site in the medical office.

"Being a 9/11 survivor, I felt it important to return to the site and contribute to the preservation of all those who lost their lives on that fateful September day," said Shane.

The on-site medical office opened in late-July to accommodate any injuries that can occur during building construction. As the nation's leading occupational health services provider, Concentra offers direct experience with the numerous rules and regulations of federal and state agencies. Concentra maintains a working knowledge of OSHA, CDC, and the Department of Labor as well as state workers' compensation laws, state OSHA laws, and other laws affecting workplace injury and safety.
