Compuware Covisint to Network VIP Health Initiative and Its Physicians, Enabling Improved Collaboration, Better Care

DETROIT, Feb. 4 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Compuware Corporation (Nasdaq: CPWR) today announced that its Covisint subsidiary will provide the VIP Health Initiative with a collaborative network for the secure sharing of sensitive patient information and improved physician collaboration. The VIP Health Initiative was formed by Scripps Mercy Physician Partners, SMPP Services and Physician Partners Management Services to enhance the quality of care delivered while also providing key clinical, administrative and regulatory efficiencies.

Physicians and other care providers face the challenge of delivering improved care amid shrinking resources. They are increasingly turning to technology to achieve their combined clinical, administrative and business goals. The VIP Health Initiative will leverage existing technical resources and provide a single, secure point for participating physicians to access sensitive patient records. This also enables participating physicians to interact with other participating laboratories, physicians and healthcare organizations. Connectivity to pharmacies and the ePrescribe feature improve patient care, decrease costs and qualify physicians for a Medicare incentive program.
