Company Dedicated to Protecting American Homes Reaches Out To Haitians Who Have Lost Theirs
Date:2/3/2010

YourLocalSecurity.com, one of America’s leading providers of home security systems donates $50 of every purchase to the Haitian Relief effort.

Salt Lake City, UT (PRWEB) -- The stories of heartache, loss, and human suffering coming out of Haiti have been overwhelming the past few weeks as one of the deadliest natural disasters of the past 100 years leaves an entire island country in ruin. Relief has been pouring in from all over the world, but one online company that is in the business of protecting homes and families has decided to donate a significant portion of its profits to help rebuild homes and protect survivors of the devastating earthquake. YourLocalSecurity.com will be donating $50 of every home security system sale towards the efforts of two of the most powerful organizations participating in the effort; Doctors Without Borders and the American Red Cross.

Ted Roxbury, online marketing director at YourLocalSecurity.com was one of the champions of the idea. “My mother-in-law is a nurse and every year she goes with a group of healthcare professionals to impoverished countries to provide basic, and much needed medical treatment.” he said, “This year their trip was re-routed to Haiti and there seems to be a solemn sense of urgency and purpose this time around.” Doctors Without Borders has been providing international medical humanitarian aid for nearly 4 decades to more than 60 countries where survival is threatened by violence, neglect, or catastrophe.

Brigg Reilley, an American Epidemiologist working with Doctors Without Borders describes the situation in Haiti.

“While there is always a need for donations to world aid organizations, rarely do we get a chance to participate in hyper time sensitive efforts that hit so close to home.” Said another member of the home-security company’s marketing team. “It makes us feel even better about the business we’re in when we can not only help protect our customers, but help rebuild a country in the process.”
Thanks to cutting edge mobile technology, The American Red Cross has set a new standard in fundraising for disaster relief efforts, they raised over $5,000,000 from their text message campaign alone.

YourLocalSecurity.com is donating $25 to both the non-profit organizations ($50 total) for every home security system purchased between February 2, 2010 through February 15, 2010.
