Companion Data Services Achieves ISO Certification for Quality Management
Date:6/2/2008

COLUMBIA, S.C., June 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Companion Data Services, LLC (CDS) today announced that it has achieved International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001:2000 certification, the most widely accepted standard for quality management.

CDS provides information technology and data processing services to support public health insurance programs administered by the federal Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. CDS processes nearly 2 million Medicare health care claims per day. ISO 9001:2000-certified processes help ensure effective, high-quality operations in this important federal program, which nearly 45 million people depend on for their health care services.

"We are very proud of this accomplishment. It demonstrates our commitment to providing high-quality services for our customers," said Steve Hammons, CDS's chief operating officer.

ISO 9001:2000 certification requires organizations to develop and adhere to stringent quality management standards and to have controls in place to ensure consistent and effective processes. Certification also requires continuous improvement and monitoring of customer-satisfaction measures. Companies are required to pass a thorough audit of all quality management processes prior to receiving certification.
