Comfort & Harmony™ Weighs in on Research, Breastfed Babies Show Superior Cognitive Development, Breastfeeding Easier with mombo™ Nursing Pillow Available at Babies “R" Us

(PRWEB) July 10, 2013

Babies who were breastfed exclusively for a period of at least three months had enhanced development in important parts of their brains, said a study. Researchers from Brown University compared breastfed children to ones who were only fed formula or a combination of formula and breast milk. The team at Comfort & Harmony™, a leader in nurturing baby products, including mombo nursing pillows, reviewed the report findings published in Science World Report (6.6.13).

According to the Brown University Study, the extra brain growth was shown to enhance part of the brain associated with language, emotional function and cognition. Researchers used quiet magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) machines to examine images of the babies' brains while they slept. One researcher was quoted as saying that it was “astounding” that there could be “that much difference so early."

“Research shows that breastfeeding a child provides many, significant health benefits to both baby and mother,” said Alyson Grubard, Director of Brand Management and Licensing for Kids II®, the owner of the Comfort & Harmony brand.

Almost all moms want to breastfeed their babies, but many get frustrated with the challenges. A mombo™ nursing pillow is one way to make breastfeeding easier.

“mombo can help moms get past the learning curve, and ease into the beneficial and satisfying experience of breastfeeding,” said Grubard.

The mombo breastfeeding pillow has a unique shape that helps mom achieve physical closeness with her baby. It also helps both baby and mom get more comfortable. The mombo has a two-sided design called Firm2Soft™. The firm side provides support for both baby and mom and the soft side is designed for baby lounging, tummy time and sitting up. mombo is also the only nursing pillow with removable vibration to soothe baby.

mombo nursing pillows are available at Babies “R” Us, a carrier of Kids II brands since 1992. Babies “R” Us was also the exclusive launch partner for the introduction of the mombo nursing pillow in 2012.

Beyond pillows, Kids II designs, markets and distributes more than 400 unique baby and infant products. Toys R Us carries all seven brands under the Kids II corporate umbrella, including Bright Starts™, Ingenuity™, Comfort & Harmony™, Disney Baby™, Baby Einstein™, Oball™ and Taggies™.
