Comar, Inc. Launches AccuCup(TM) - A Printed Dosage Cup for Use in General and Pediatric Markets
Date:8/6/2008

BUENA, N.J., Aug. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Comar Incorporated, a leading designer and manufacturer of precision liquid dispensing products and plastic packaging solutions for the pharmaceutical market, announced today that it has officially launched "AccuCup(TM)". AccuCup is the first commercially available dosage cup with measurement markings that are printed on the outside of the cup with cured and durable, FDA compliant, food grade inks. AccuCup is a stronger and safer alternative to embossed dosage cups, particularly in liquid-drug dispensing applications where "clearly visible accuracy" and synchronizing the packaging label instructions and brand with cup-print markings are important.

AccuCup(TM) is now being offered to the general and pediatric market with the flexibility to fit popular child-resistant closures from 22 to 24mm in diameter. Drug manufacturers and packagers now have an "affordable and quick option" to enable the printing of custom measurements, product brands and instructions in up to 2 colors, on the outside of a standard, physical blank- cup design. The customer will also have the added advantage of engaging Comar's Engineering Design Team to develop a "custom rib configuration" inside the AccuCup(TM) to fit unique cap designs. Additionally, AccuCup will be available in a "Stock-Standard Cup" design with generic markings of up to 20mL and 4 tsp.

According to Mike Ruggieri, President of Comar; "Our decision to offer AccuCup(TM) to the market was a proactive response to the pharmaceutical industry's and FDA's continuing concerns over the safety and effectiveness of selected OTC pediatric liquid cough and cold medications. Not only are we actively involved in the design of innovative packaging and dosing solutions for the pharmaceutical industry, but as involved members of the Consumer Healthcare Products Association/CHPA and IOPP, among other distinguished drug and packaging organizations, Comar is committed to raising the standard
