JANESVILLE, Wis., July 16 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Cogdell Spencer ERDMAN is pleased to announce the signing of design-build contracts totaling $53.9 million for St. Mary's Janesville Hospital with SSM Health Care of Wisconsin, Inc. and $34.9 million for Dean Janesville Clinic with Dean Health Systems, Inc.
Scheduled to begin during the third quarter, completion is expected sometime in late 2011. The projects will be constructed on the new medical campus located at the I90/I39 and Hwy 11 interchange in Janesville, Wisconsin. Cogdell Spencer ERDMAN collaborated with Shepley Bulfinch of Boston, MA on the programming, planning and design of the hospital and clinic project.
With approximately 160,000 square feet, the hospital design emphasizes spaces that facilitate patient, caregiver, and family interactions. The hospital will feature a multi-story building with 50 private patient rooms, emergency department, imaging, laboratory, intensive care unit, six operating rooms with associated prep/recovery bays, family birthing center, sleep study center, administrative offices, dining area and town square entry lobby.
The four-story multi-specialty outpatient clinic will consist of approximately 150,000 square feet, which includes retail space, urgent care, primary care, specialty care, eye care, mental health, surgical specialists, ancillary services including pharmacy, imaging, laboratory, outpatient cardiac rehab, therapy services, conference center and business office. The design of both facilities incorporates leading edge technology in a warm, patient-friendly environment.
