Coastal Healthcare Administrators Expands Provider Network to Santa Clara County
Date:12/15/2009

SANTA CLARA, Calif., Dec. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, Coastal Healthcare Administrators officially announced its expansion into Santa Clara County for the first time since its inception in 1961. Effective immediately, Coastal Healthcare Administrators will be assuming responsibilities and provider contracts previously held by the Physicians Foundation for Medical Care.

Operating on a locally based healthcare philosophy, Coastal maintains close working relationships with all network physicians, ancillary providers, hospitals and surgery centers. Requiring doctors to go through a credential certification process every three years, Coastal ensures that its clients get the best treatment from the network physicians. Additionally, Coastal's custom healthcare plans include enriched features not found in other plans in an effort to meet the healthcare and budget needs of residents in Santa Clara County.

"We are committed to delivering the best healthcare services available and are excited to extend our services to Santa Clara County," said Debi Hardwick, President and CEO of Coastal. "As we enter this new market, we will maintain the same standard of excellence and local focus that has made our reputation what it is today, ensuring effective management for all aspects of healthcare delivery."

"We have experienced firsthand the benefits of working with a healthcare administrator located within our service area. Coastal is able to establish better relationships with the provider network, expedite claim processing and provide superior customer service," stated Shelley Giancola of the Housing Authority of the County of Monterey. "We never hear complaints from our staff with respect to Coastal's services, which is the best indicator that we are providing a great benefit to our employees."

In addition to maintaining a network of healthcare providers, Coastal specializes in the administration of self-insured group health plans, efficient and prudent claims processing, COBRA and HIPAA administration, a full range of informative management reports, accounting services, reinsurance billing and assistance in plan document preparation. Participants are given the flexibility to choose from a network of over 4,000 local physicians, ancillary healthcare providers, hospitals and surgery centers. Through a number of affiliations, Coastal provides additional coverage throughout California and the U.S., making affordable healthcare available when and where it is needed.

Remaining independent for over 50 years, Coastal is engaged in the day-to-day operations of the entire healthcare process. In addition, advanced technology management information systems enable timely and efficient eligible claims administration.
