Cleaning for Health: Custodians Honored for Improving School Environment
Date:3/11/2009

and John Smith use innovative solutions to involve students in maintaining clean surroundings, teaching them responsibility and instilling a sense of pride in their own school. The previous cleaning program was completely restructured to emphasize cleanliness and sanitization rather than merely focusing on the appearance of classrooms.

You can read more details about the custodians' innovative cleaning efforts on SDA's website, at

C.L.E.A.N.(R) Award runners up received a $2,000 cash award and, like top recipient Pat Nicholson, an all expense paid trip to NEA's National Education Support Professionals Conference in Orlando, Florida, March 13-15, 2009.

The Soap and Detergent Association (SDA - www.cleaning101.com), the Home of the U.S. Cleaning Product and Oleochemical Industries(R), is a one-hundred plus member trade association representing the $30 billion U.S. cleaning products market. SDA members include the formulators of soaps, detergents, and general cleaning products used in household, commercial, industrial and institutional settings; companies that supply ingredients and finished packaging for these products; and oleochemical producers. SDA and its members are dedicated to improving health and the quality of life through sustainable cleaning products and practices.
