Clarity Health Named Winner of Seattle Business Magazine 2013 Tech Impact Award
Date:10/1/2013

Seattle, WA (PRWEB) October 01, 2013

Clarity Health Services, a rapidly-growing provider of care coordination solutions for medical practices and health systems, was named a winner of Seattle Business Magazine’s Tech Impact Award in the Health category. The 2013 Tech Impact Awards recognize companies and individuals that develop information technology that significantly improves a company or industry’s business performance or that provides an important public benefit.

Clarity Health was named a finalist and honored as a winner of the award for its Emergency Department (ED) Discharge Notification product, a web-based solution giving healthcare providers real-time information on patients who have visited the hospital’s emergency department. The solution enables healthcare providers to proactively contact patients to ensure timely follow-up care when discharged from the hospital, improving patient outcomes and decreasing the chances the patient will need to return to the emergency department. The solution has already helped clinics reduce readmission rates by 10 percent without extensive investments or upgrades to their current IT systems.

“Nearly $50 billion is spent each year on hospital readmissions, and we believe much of that cost can be avoided by providing doctors and nurses with information they need to follow up with patients right away,” said Clarity Health CEO Bill Bunker. “Our customers have already seen a significant decrease in readmission rates, and we are committed to expanding our offering to new geographies across the nation. We are honored to be recognized by Seattle Business Magazine for our dedication to this mission.”

Clarity Health’s ED Discharge Notification is part of a broader platform of patient transition services including referral management and surgery authorization to increase efficiency and patient satisfaction in medical facilities.
