Chris Jay Hoofnagle, Director of the Berkeley Center for Law & Technology's information privacy programs and senior fellow to the Samuelson Law, Technology & Public Policy Clinic has been confirmed as the keynote at the next AdMonsters US Network Ad Ops Forum taking place in San Francisco on June 17.

(PRWEB) May 18, 2010 -- Chris Jay Hoofnagle, Director of the Berkeley Center for Law & Technology's information privacy programs and senior fellow to the Samuelson Law, Technology & Public Policy Clinic has been confirmed as the keynote at the next AdMonsters US Network Ad Ops Forum taking place in San Francisco on June 17.

Entitled “Networks, Regulation and Privacy: Understanding Where we are Today” Chris will delve into the current inadequacies of self-regulatory rules for online privacy and how developments in this area will impact ad operations and the way networks are managed. Chris commented, “The next year is going to be critical for advertising networks, because Congress, the Federal Trade Commission, and international authorities have signalled a need to revisit the regulation of targeted advertising”.

The next AdMonsters US Network Ad Ops Forum will run for one day beginning with a highly focused agenda addressing the operational aspects of managing networks and achieving greater efficiencies, revenue and profitability. As with all AdMonsters events, attendees can expect to return to the office with a better understanding of the key challenges facing the industry and a detailed list of short-term, tactical solutions. AdMonsters members regularly rate AdMonsters events as the most valuable forum they attend.

“There's a lot of talk these days about the value of data for publishers, networks and advertisers. It's true that we'll see an increasing shift from traditional channel based planning to audience based buying. However, privacy concerns and government regulation pose a significant threat to that potential. It's important for operations and technology teams to understand these threats and understand what they can do to help stave them off. Chris will offer uniquely valuable insight into the state of regulation and privacy today.” said Matt O'Neill, AdMonsters president.

Other speakers at this event include Matt Barash, Director of Publisher Development at Fox Audience Network and Jenifer Witt, Director of North American Ad Operations at Adconion Media Group.
