Choices Recovery Discusses Addiction in Hollywood with Singer Carly Robyn Green and Blogger Melissa Curtin
Date:4/13/2015

Hollywood, California (PRWEB) April 13, 2015

On the rooftop of the luxurious Beverly Hilton Hotel, in the Stardust Penthouse that overlooks the impressive Los Angeles skyline, a special event was held to honor the nominees of the 2015 Oscar awards. On February 21, 2015, Choices Recovery sponsored Debbie Durkin’s EcoLuxe Lounge and the “Salute to the Oscars” celebration.

The EcoLuxe Lounge is a gathering of some of the world’s premier providers of ecologically sound and social conscious products and services. Organized by Durkin Entertainment, the leading producer of sustainable product placement in TV and film, the EcoLuxe Lounge and the “Salute to the Oscars” celebration saw many of Hollywood’s notable contributors to the entertainment industry, who stopped in to learn more about the eco-friendly, natural and holistic goods and services showcased there.

“We were honored to have a place in sponsoring the EcoLuxe Lounge,” commented Choices Recovery founder Per Wickstrom. “As a leading provider of natural and holistic treatment for substance abuse, Choices Recovery fit in well, and we were grateful for the opportunity to raise awareness about addiction and the service that we offer.”

Drug Use in the Music Business

Many of the attendees at the EcoLuxe Lounge took some time to speak with Per and AMP Radio’s Chris Booker, who hosted the Choices Recovery media center that day, including rising singer and songwriter Carly Robyn Green and blogger Melissa Curtin. They talked about some of the problems of addiction that they have seen in Hollywood and beyond. “Especially in the music business, it’s unfortunately so prevalent,” offers Carly, “and so whatever I can do to help them, we want these resources to be available.” Melissa adds, “I’ve never seen it so much living in LA as I did on the East Coast. [Living in] Hollywood and LA is a tough time. There’s a lot of rejection that people in the entertainment world face, and there’s a lot of depression because they think they’re not where they should be.”

Other notable attendees of the EcoLuxe Lounge included Elise Robertson (Oscar Nominee for American Sniper: Best Picture), Jason Canovas (Oscar Nominee for The Hobbit: Sound Editing), Elizabeth Yianni-Georgiou (Oscar Nominee for Guardians of the Galaxy: Achievement in Makeup and Hairstyling), Lisa Bruce (Oscar Nominee for The Theory of Everything: Best Picture), Ben Wilkins (Oscar Winner for Whiplash: Best Sound Mixing), Kevin Sorbo (Hercules), Claudia Wells (Back To The Future), Jason Davis (Celebrity Rehab), Frank Stallone (Rocky), Chase Masterson (General Hospital, ER) and many, many others.
