Children's Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota Receives National Recognition for Quality and Efficiency

MINNEAPOLIS, Dec. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Children's Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota has been named a recipient of the 2009 Leapfrog Top Hospitals Award. Children's - Minneapolis was recognized for delivering care that is among the best in the nation while also attaining the highest levels of efficiency.

The Leapfrog survey is the only national, public comparison of hospitals on key issues including mortality rates for common procedures, infection rates, and safety practices. New this year, Leapfrog added an efficiency measure to the award criteria to recognize leading institutions that use resources wisely to deliver excellent care.

Goldbloom, MD, president and CEO of Children's of Minnesota. Children's is one of only eight pediatric hospitals in the country to receive the award this year, and is the only children's hospital to make the list from the five-state region.
