ChildCare Education Institute Gives Child Care Staff a Professional Development Course in Observance of National Infant Mortality Awareness Month

DULUTH, Ga., Sept. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- ChildCare Education Institute is committed to developing relevant and up-to-date online coursework that enriches early childhood professionals and the care provided to children in child care settings. CCEI offers several courses that address the needs of infant safety in a child care setting.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, each year there are more than 4,500 Sudden Unexpected Infant Deaths (SUID), half of which are due to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). SIDS is the leading cause of death in infants aged 1-12 months.

During the month of September, child care staff can log in to CCEI's learning management system at www.cceionline.com, and take CCEI117: Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. Completion of this course will provide early childhood professionals with information on risk reduction strategies and sleep environment dangers to aid teachers in creating a safe environment for infants. Students completing the course will be awarded 0.1 IACET CEUs and a certificate of completion.
