Child Care Center for Patients Opens at OhioHealth
Date:4/23/2009

efits of these child care programs for employees, including increased ability to focus and peace of mind knowing their children are safe and cared for nearby, informed OhioHealth's decision to offer the benefit to patients.

"We are pleased to extend our partnership with OhioHealth and provide child care to patients' children. OhioHealth understands that when a parent or caretaker requires medical care, it affects everyone in the family, particularly the youngest members. At The Clubhouse, the children are well cared for, enabling patients to concentrate on getting the medical attention and care they need to get better," said Bright Horizons CEO David Lissy.

Using The Clubhouse at Westerville Medical Campus

Patients of the Westerville Medical Campus, including parents and grandparents, are welcome to use The Clubhouse for short-time child care for their children during visits to the campus. Teachers at The Clubhouse take special care to ensure that the children's emotional and developmental needs are met while their parents are attending medical appointments. Through play, the teachers help ease anxieties that the children may be experiencing. Children explore books about going to the doctor, express their feelings through creative arts, and learn more about health care by using medical supplies such as bandages and stethoscopes in the dramatic play area.

The Clubhouse is available for children ages 3-12 and is staffed by Bright Horizons teachers from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. weekdays. Please call The Clubhouse at 614.533.3011 for more information or to register your child.
