Chicago Artist Tadeusz Seidel Supports Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation Chicago Chapter Benefit
Date:9/17/2008

Charles Vickery's most committed protégé Tadeusz Seidel yet again shows his support for spinal cord injury research by donating a painting to the silent auction for 'Comedy for a Cure' Benefit event starring E!'s Chelsea Handler.

Chicago, IL (PRWEB) September 17, 2008 -- http://www.seidelart.com/index.html [Tadeusz Seidel], Chicago fine artist, announced today his donation of a painting to the silent auction during Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation's Chicago Chapter Benefit.

The event will be hosted by Chelsea Handler of E!'s Chelsea Lately and will take place on http://www.christopherreeve.org/site/c.geIMLPOpGjF/b.4253387/k.A1C/Comedy_for_a_Cure_Starring_Chelsea_Handler.htm [Sunday, October 26, 2008 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at House of Blues Chicago].

This benefit celebrates the launch of the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation's Chicago Chapter and all proceeds from the event will go towards fulfilling the Reeve Foundation's mission. In addition to Chelsea Handler's comedic performance, the event will also feature a buffet dinner, premium bar, a silent auction, and a brief update on the state of spinal cord injury research.

Tadeusz Seidel has been an avid supporter of finding a cure for paralysis caused by spinal cord injury and other causes for many years, donating paintings and proceeds from sales to different nonprofit spinal cord injury organizations. He continues his support through the newly formed Chicago Chapter of the Reeve Foundation.

"Art is not only about creation of visual beauty. I believe art's essential function lies in bringing inspiration and harmony to human life. And that's how I want my art to be understood - my art is about giving and sharing," proclaims the artist. The painting donated to the silent auction, http://www.askart.com/askart/studio/artwork.aspx?studio=11149765&work=80662&searchtype=STUDIO_FOR_SALE ["White Carriage"], carries a dynamic theme where traditional subject matter of Chicago carriages is juxtaposed with the forceful energy of the city but united by soothing Impressionistic light. The artist chose this particular work of art because of its Chicago-focused subject matter and relevant positivity, as both elements complement the purpose of the event.

Jon O'Connor, co-chair of the Chicago Chapter, stated, "We are extremely appreciative of Tadeusz's generosity and steadfast support. We are thrilled that the proceeds from this one-of-a- kind painting will ultimately benefit people living with paralysis."

About Tadeusz Seidel
Born in Poland, Tadeusz Seidel grew up in Warsaw, where he was exposed to the classical forms of art. Tadeusz received great encouragement to develop his artistic skills from his father, Teodor, himself an artist and educator. Tadeusz credits his father with teaching him to look at the world with open eyes and to acknowledge nature as an infinite source of inspiration. After immigrating to the USA, Tadeusz served as an apprentice for seven years to the world-renowned seascape painter Charles Vickery. Vickery's mastery of craft and his kindness and humane outlook undeniably magnified Tadeusz's potential as a painter. Tadeusz has devoted himself to the observation of the world. His technical versatility, original use of color, and the curious perspectives found in all of his oil paintings ensure an unforgettable artistic experience for a viewer of any taste.
