Charm Sciences ROSA® One-Minute Beta-lactam Test and Charm EZ® Reader Validated by ILVO-T&V Belgium
Date:5/30/2013

Lawrence, MA. (PRWEB) May 30, 2013

The Institute for Agricultural and Fisheries Research (ILVO-T&V, Belgium) has evaluated the Charm® ROSA MRLBL1 test and determined it is appropriate for screening raw, commingled, bovine milk. This validation also included the Charm EZ system which is a combination incubator/reader. The ROSA MRLBL1 is the first one minute test approved worldwide, and meets the criteria of the European Guidance for Screening Methods.

The Charm MRLBL1 is the latest in a series of Charm ROSA (Rapid One Step Assays) performed on the EZ Reader. With a one-minute combined incubation and read, the test can be performed at the receiving plant, the tanker, and on the farm. In one minute the MRLBL1 lateral flow test screens for 13 beta lactam drugs at European Union and CODEX maximum residue limits. This fastest assay allows for testing from farm to the processing plant.

The Charm EZ® system has additional features: including test kit identification with built-in diagnostics to prevent operator error, multilingual, and touch screen interface.

Sophisticated data management allows for integration with barcode scanners, RFID readers, Ethernet connectivity, and Laboratory Information Management Systems

Additional approved/validated ROSA antibiotic milk tests include the following:
MRLBL3 – 3 minute beta lactam test to meet EU MRL’s
MRLBL – 8 minute beta lactam test to meet EU MRL’s
MRLBLTET – 8 minute combination beta lactam and tetracycline test to meet EU MRL’s
MRLBLTET2 – 2 minute combination beta lactam and tetracycline test to meet EU MRL’s
MRLBLRFTET2 – 2 minute combination beta lactam and tetracycline test to meet Custom Union regulations
SL3 – 3 minute beta lactam test to meet US Safe Levels
