Thomson(R) Study Ranks CDH Among Health Care Leaders

WINFIELD, Ill., March 19 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- For the second consecutive year, Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, Ill., has been named one of the Top 100 Hospitals(R) in the U.S. by Thomson, a national healthcare information company. This honor awards excellence in overall hospital performance.

Central DuPage Hospital is the first DuPage County hospital to receive this prestigious award. Thomson evaluates key measures of clinical, operational and financial performance of over 3,000 hospitals nationwide in designating their Top 100.

Central DuPage Hospital's CEO, Luke McGuinness, stated, "Earning this elite award for the second year in a row is a reflection of the excellence of our standards and the consistency with which those standards are maintained. We are grateful to our Board members, physicians, nurses, clinical and administrative staff for their leadership, hard work and passion for excellence."

A Thomson study that identifies the Top 100 Hospitals(R) indicates more than 120,000 additional patients would survive and an additional 138,000 would avoid complications annually if all hospitals performed at Top 100 benchmarks.

A commitment to excellent and compassionate care provided each and every day by a skilled and caring staff is Central DuPage Hospital's formula for award-winning care.
