Central Control is First Louisiana-Based Organization to Deploy Voice-Assisted Care

PITTSBURGH, Jan. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Vocollect Healthcare Systems, Inc. announces that Central Control, Inc. based in Pineville, Louisiana, is deploying AccuNurse(R) voice-assisted care in four of its skilled nursing and rehabilitation facilities. As part of its implementation, Central Control will begin with the Lafayette-based facility and then deploy in the next two largest facilities -- Camelot of Broussard and Camelot Place -- before eventually completing implementation in its remaining facilities throughout Louisiana.

Central Control expects the investment in voice-assisted care to take quality of care to new levels of performance by enabling more proactive care, increasing productivity of its direct care team and providing more time for direct resident care. By giving caregivers the ability to access resident care needs on demand, complete paperwork simply by talking, enhance care team collaboration with Silent Paging(TM) and respond faster to resident needs, Central Control will achieve numerous performance and reimbursement gains, including enabling higher levels of staff efficiency and satisfaction while increasing quality, eliminating paperwork, and achieving compliance.

According to Nicole Howard, chief financial officer of Central Control, the decision to implement AccuNurse voice-assisted care begins with its staff and residents. "Voice-assisted care will provide our clinical staff with a very easy and accurate way to document care for our residents. We've decided to replace kiosk-based systems in two of our larger facilities because of the ability to document closer to the point of care. The time savings not only enables our care team to direct more time to residents, but the real-time nature of voice will also lead to more accurate, comprehensive record-keeping, resulting in improved reimbursements and better preparation for annual surveys.
