Centers for Disease Control Lifts Travel Health Warning for Mexico
Date:5/15/2009

In lieu of these developments, The Villa Group encourages travelers to take advantage of the current low rates and visit Mexico now. CDC today removed the Travel Health Warning against non-essential visits to Mexico, while maintaining recommendations for travel health safety.

SAN DIEGO, May 15 /PRNewswire/ -- In their continuous efforts to track and monitor the H1N1 virus in Mexico, CDC has noted that the virus activity is slowing down, and today, lifted the Travel Health Warning for travel to Mexico. The CDC disclosed that "risk of severe disease from novel H1N1 virus infection now appears to be less than originally thought" and recently reported cases throughout the world have been determined to be unrelated to travel in Mexico.

Coming on the tails of the CDC's announcement, The Villa Group, owners of a unique collection of Mexican resorts and spas, wishes to welcome visitors back to Mexico. Many vacationers are continuing to book reservations at the Villa Group resorts in Cabo San Lucas, Puerto Vallarta, and Nuevo Vallarta/Riviera Nayarit. These guests have taken advantage of great rates in locations that remain unaffected by the H1N1 virus. Find out more about what these vacationers are saying.

The World Health Organization also announced this week that they would not recommend placing restrictions on travel between countries, as this would have minimal effects against spreading the disease, and would be "highly disruptive" in the global community.

The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) still recommends that anyone who feels sick or shows any symptoms of regular seasonal flu, which is very similar to the H1N1 virus, should stay home (except to seek medical treatment) to prevent spreading the virus.

Please visit www.villagroupresorts.com to stay updated on The Villa Group happenings in and around their resorts. No cases of the H1N1 virus have been reported at any of The Villa Group's resort destinations, and with the easing of travel restrictions there's never been a better time to plan a Mexican getaway.
