Cenegenics Poses Challenge to Obama for Successful Healthcare Reform

Global age management medicine leader urges president to learn from their proven preventive approach to solve nation's current healthcare crisis.

Las Vegas, NV (PRWEB) May 29, 2009 -- Cenegenics® Medical Institute, global age management medicine leader, set a challenge to President Obama, who stated in a White House interview that he's "absolutely committed" to a healthcare plan, believing his administration will succeed in reform since escalating costs have shifted the political climate. Two Cenegenics CEOs say to truly affect change via prevention the president should pay close attention to the programs launched by the forerunners in the proactive medicine field, Cenegenics.

During a May 22nd C-SPAN interview at the White House Library with host Steve Scully, Obama said healthcare reform is needed to "bend the curve" of costs, particularly those associated with Medicare and Medicaid. Per Obama, "the stars may be aligned" to potentially produce reform if we come at it in a practical way, not with "ideological rigidity."

That's exactly Cenegenics' point. Thinking outside the box has been the foundation of their ongoing success--and it's that innovative pathway that Drs. Mickey Barber, CEO Cenegenics Carolinas, and Robert D. Willix, Jr, CEO Cenegenics Boca Raton, challenge Obama and the White House to review and take note.

"We say this to the president, 'You've met with the insurance and drug companies, why not step out of your mold and listen to the leaders in proactive healthcare? The pharmacology and insurance industries are destroying our healthcare system. If you really want to affect change, you don't have to look any further than Cenegenics and our proactive innovations, such as our Advanced Lifestyle Program and Food Diamond,'" Willix said.

Per Willix, Cenegenics' mission statement has always been to change the paradigm of medicine, transitioning from a disease-oriented system to a proactive, preventive one. They accomplish that by managing the aging process with well-established protocols, not believing aging is a war that solicits an anti-aging campaign. That, Willix says, would violate the natural law.

"We hope the Obama plan is about empowering people with information and access to make the right choices," Barber said. "The underlying issue isn't just taking medication to treat disease. The real focus should be lifestyle changes. Most Americans know they need to lose weight, exercise, eat better and quit smoking. The problem is they don't understand how to make that happen. Cenegenics' programs are designed to empower people to make change."

Building on that sentiment, Cenegenics launched two new innovations they want Obama to review.

1. The Food Diamond. Americans who subscribe to the antiquated USDA's food pyramid are doing more nutritional harm than good, Willix says. At the center of his "Food Diamond" is water/hydration. From there are adequate lean protein, fresh vegetables (organic preferred), fruits and a moderate intake of healthy fats/grains. Major publications such as Forbes, major business journals and affiliates of FoxNews, ABC, CBS and NBC have featured this revolutionary nutrition diagram.
2. The Advanced Lifestyle Program. A six-hour powerhouse day customized where patients are immersed in the dynamics of healthy, lifestyle components, gain awareness, maintain a steady course and conquer fears, reluctance and negative self-talk. Experts in nutrition, exercise and mind-body strategies guide patients in hands-on experience with one-on-one attention.

Complementing preventive programs, Barber and Willix also believe Obama should consider the benefits of stem-cell banking, which can help people better fight the effects of major known disease killers, from cancer and heart disease to diabetes and Alzheimer's. The service is offered at both of their centers, where entire families--including their newborns since umbilical stem cells are a rich source--take advantage of the program.

"Regenerative medicine is the best health insurance your family can have," Barber said. "It's not prevention, but a smart plan for your future health since at some period in time most people will need the health benefit stem cells offer."
