Celebrity Make-Up Artist Introduces New Eye Shadow Palette for Cervical Cancer Awareness

(PRWEB) January 27, 2010 -- In recognition of cervical cancer awareness month, Debra Macki, one of the industry’s most sought after make-up artists, has created a new eye shadow palette to help raise awareness of this preventable cancer. The palette includes three shades that represent the three tools women have to help prevent cervical cancer including: the Pap test, the HPV test and the HPV vaccine.

The highly pigmented shadows are designed with mineral pigments and are fragrance, talc, and paraben free. The beautiful colors were inspired by Monaco, and are designed to withstand the flashing lights of the paparazzi. Eighty-percent of the sale of every palette will go back to the Yellow Umbrella Organization, founded by cervical cancer survivor and musician, Christine Baze.

Through the Yellow Umbrella Organization, Baze uses her story, voice, and music to help raise awareness of HPV, cervical cancer and opportunities to prevent this deadly disease. “As a survivor, I don’t want any other woman to have to go through what I did,” said Baze. “I’m thrilled to have another creative outlet to reach girls and women to educate them about HPV and the tools to prevent cervical cancer.”

“I was inspired by everything Christine does to spread the word, and wanted to do something to help,” said Macki. “Creating this eye shadow palette with Christine seemed like the perfect fit.”

The Debra Macki for Yellow Umbrella eye shadow palette includes three shades: nude shimmer, plum and purple/blue sparkle, and sells for $36.
