Casper Boards Indiegogo Campaign Reaches Crowdfunding Goal in Five Hours; Hits 200 Percent of Fixed Goal in Less Than One Week Demonstrating Market Demand

Casper Boards announces the launch of the original Casper Board, the first-ever active footrest that doubles as both a sitting footrest and a standing balance board. By promoting constant movement while at work, the board helps users burn more calories, boosts mental focus and supports heart health. The rapid success of Casper Board’s crowdfunding campaign demonstrates that it addresses a common concern and resonates with a wide demographic.

Numerous studies show the dangers of sitting for long periods of time, from obesity to high cholesterol. But that doesn’t mean standing is necessarily the answer. According to Dr. David Alter, a cardiologist and senior scientist at the University Health Network’s Toronto Rehabilitation Institute, “The solution to sitting may not be standing…The solution to sitting may be movement.” So, the problem is not necessarily just sitting at work, but lack of movement.

The Casper Board addresses this issue by promoting free-flowing, constant movement over the span of a workday. Through its patent-pending design, the board allows users to increase their overall activity throughout the day through small but regular movements. It is unique from any other product on the market because it can be used whether sitting or standing, due to its two easily adjustable modular configurations.

“The original idea was actually inspired by a skateboard I used under my desk when I got restless while sitting at work. It wasn’t the perfect solution, but it gave me a sense of motion throughout the day while providing support,” said Martin Melgoza, Founder and CEO of Casper Boards. “As standing desks became more popular, I wondered why there wasn’t a solution that benefitted both sitting and standing workers. Then one day, a light bulb went off in my head and it hit me – if the perfect footrest doesn’t exist, I need to create it. My hope is that the Casper Board will provide an answer for everyone, no matter what their working style might be.”

For sitting staffers, the board acts as a traditional footrest, but with one key difference. The ball housings on either side allow users to move the board freely in any direction, promoting free-flowing movement and mobility. For the workforce with a standing desk, the board easily converts to a balance board with a snap-on dome-shaped base that creates slight instability while standing, activating the core.

The Indiegogo campaign will run through the end of October 2018 and can be accessed at the following link:
