Carolinas HealthCare System - Anson Hospital Now Open
Date:7/13/2014

Anson County, NC (PRWEB) July 13, 2014

Carolinas Healthcare System celebrated today the grand opening ceremony of its newest location, the Carolinas HealthCare System - Anson located in Anson County. The $20 million dollar facility replaces the aged Anson Community Hospital in Wadesboro.

Located on U.S. Highway 74, the new location is approximately three miles from the previous facility. Situated on a 10-acre site, the new hospital features a single-story floorplan that includes an emergency room drop-off, helipad, healing garden, and 15 beds. With fewer than 27,000 residents, less than ten in-patient stays per day are expected. Services offered will encompass surgery and imaging services such as x-rays, mammography, and ultrasounds. There is also a pharmacy and laboratory on-site.

The project was completed under a Design-Build delivery method, with Timmons Group providing civil engineering services, and Brasfield & Gorrie overseeing the process. Engineering design services performed included landscape architecture for the site, land surveying, and site permitting.

“The new facility is first class, and should be more than adequate to fulfill the medical needs of the local residents,” commented Brian Crutchfield, Principal of Timmons Group. “Both Brasfield & Gorrie and Carolinas HealthCare have been terrific to work with, with all of us keeping the end patient in mind as we designed and constructed the facility to be as comfortable and accessible as possible.”

The hospital was completed ahead of schedule, with North Carolina regulators first approving the project in June of 2012.
