Caris Diagnostics Announces Addition of Leading Dermatopathologist to Expand Subspecialty Expertise

IRVING, Texas, Jan. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Caris Diagnostics, a leading provider of diagnostic services in anatomic pathology and molecular testing, today announced the hiring of another nationally renowned dermatopathologist for its Phoenix laboratory. Iftikhar "Ifty" Ahmed, M.D. has joined Caris Diagnostics to support the growing dermatopathology practice for the company.

Dr. Ahmed joins Caris Diagnostics from the Mayo Clinic and Mayo Foundation in Rochester, MN, where he practiced for fourteen years. Most recently, he was Professor of Dermatology, Director of Dermatopathology, and Co-Director of the Dermatopathology Fellowship at the Mayo Clinic. Dr. Ahmed is board certified in Anatomic Pathology, Dermatology and Dermatopathology. He is on the editorial boards of American Journal of Dermatopathology, Dermatologic Surgery, Journal of American Academy of Dermatology, and he is Section Editor of International Journal of Dermatology. Dr. Ahmed holds the office of Vice President of the Federation for International Dermatologic Education, which provides travel and educational grants for continued education to developing countries. He has been an active lecturer at international and national meetings including the Annual Meetings of the American Society of Dermatopathology and the American Academy of Dermatology.
