Top-Rated Senior Care Service Comes to Mid-Atlantic Region

ATLANTA, Oct. 30 /PRNewswire/ -- AmeriCare ( http://www.americarealliance.com ), a national home-based caregiving company, announced the opening of its latest franchises serving Howard, Montgomery, and Prince George Counties in Maryland. While one of the smaller states in the union, Maryland is in the top 20 in terms of its population and one in five Marylanders is over the age of 60. AmeriCare of Maryland will provide caregiving services to seniors and families with a choice of licensed, pre-screened, personally selected caregivers who work with individuals to create a unique customized care plan, free of limitations or restrictions. AmeriCare, which provides senior care and other forms of caregiving services in the home, now offers services for families in a dozen states.

"In every community that we serve, we're committed to bringing in owners that appreciate the difference between caretaking and caregiving," said Debra Reis, president of AmeriCare. "Our pledge to our neighbors is an unparalleled commitment to quality caregiving that meets their needs. That's what differentiates AmeriCare in an industry that's experiencing explosive growth."

According to the U.S. Census and Maryland's Department of Aging nearly 1 million of the state's 5.6 million residents are aged 60 or more. The percentage of those aged 60 or more is expected to increase to 25 percent of Maryland's projected population of 6.7 million by the year 2030. In the state, Montgomery and Prince George's Counties are among the top 5 counties in terms of senior populations; Howard County is in the top 10 counties with senior populations.

Nationwide, more than 34 million Americans personally care for a family member in need and, with the population aging, the number of families in need of quality, flexible caregiving services is expected to rapidly
