Carefx Named an Innovative Information Access 'Company to Watch' By Leading Market Research Firm

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., Oct. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Carefx Corporation, a leading provider of interoperable workflow solutions to advance the quality and safety of patient care, is listed among the "Innovative Information Access Companies Under $100 Million to Watch" by IDC, a leading IT market research and advisory firm. The October 2009 study (IDC #220450), unveiled by IDC on Monday, Oct. 26, profiles companies "with the vision and technology to have an impact on the IT marketplace" and those that exemplify trends such as "unified management of and access to all information types - both data and content - across applications and repositories."

Carefx was selected for inclusion in the Information Access report (IDC #220450) based on IDC's solicitation of entries from companies of less than $100 million in revenue in 2008 that exemplify trends driving change in information access markets. Analysts who cover information access software completed a first round of judging followed by a second round of judging involving IDC research executives. (Click here for an excerpt of the report.)

Based on the drivers of change cited in "Worldwide Information Access, Analysis, and Management Software 2009 Top 10 Predictions" (IDC #215811), this "Companies to Watch" report (IDC #220450) alludes to typical health IT challenges such as data integration, application interoperability and government requirements for meaningful use of EMRs. It acknowledges that meaningful use depends on "architectures and solutions that facilitate unified access to healthcare data stored and maintained in a variety of formats and data types by heterogeneous applications."
