Career Step Announces New Career Training Program for Medical Coding Field

Career Step has announced the launch of a new program that will expand the career options of professionals and students in the medical coding field with training in inpatient medical coding.

Provo, Utah (PRWEB) August 11, 2009 -- Career Step, a leading online healthcare education company, has announced the launch of a new Inpatient and Outpatient Medical Coding and Billing career training program. This program will expand the career options of professionals and students in the medical coding field with training in inpatient medical coding.

"There has long been a distinction between inpatient and outpatient medical coding and billing," said Michael Wilstead, Career Step CEO. "Career Step has been successfully training outpatient coders for years, and we've built this new program upon that foundation. Now, our students will be able to train for careers in both inpatient and outpatient coding."

The medical coding and billing profession is divided between inpatient and outpatient coding based on the complexity of the procedures and the specific codes used. Students who take the new Career Step Inpatient and Outpatient Medical Coding and Billing program will have the knowledge and skills necessary to enter the inpatient coding specialty, which typically offers attractive pay rates and significant opportunity for advancement.
