Date:5/19/2009

MetroHealth Wall of Hope and Chris Evert Children's Hospital websites earn top honors

TROY, Mich., May 19 /PRNewswire/ -- CareTech Solutions, Inc. (www.caretechsolutions.com), an information technology (IT) and Web products and services provider for hospitals and health systems, has been honored for medical marketing excellence, earning two gold awards in the 2009 Aster Award (www.AsterAwards.com) competition for its Web products and strategies supporting The MetroHealth System of Cleveland, Ohio; and Chris Evert Children's Hospital, part of Broward Health of Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Scoring within the 95th to 99th percentile, both gold awards were given in the website category of this year's competition, placing CareTech Solutions in the top five percent of Web products and services providers in the nation.

The Aster Awards, one of the largest competitions of its kind, is hosted by Marketing Healthcare Today (www.mhtmagazine.com) and Creative Images, Inc. This elite national program recognizes outstanding healthcare professionals for excellence in their advertising and marketing efforts.

The 2009 Aster Awards consisted of approximately 3,000 entries from across America. Participants' entries competed against similar-sized organizations in their category. Judging criteria includes creativity, layout and design, functionality, message effectiveness, production quality and overall appeal.

"CareTech Solutions is among the top in the nation for healthcare advertising expertise, specifically scoring in the top 5 percent," said Melinda R. Lucas, Aster Awards Program Coordinator. "It was an honor to have CareTech participate in the 2009 Aster Awards. They exceeded the judges' expectations."

The MetroHealth System has been a CareTech Solutions client since 2008. CareTech constructed the virtual Wall of Hope - which has a real-life counterpart in a gallery-like setting at MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland.

"We are often in the news about the 'miraculous' recoveries of people who were critically injured or critically ill," said Eileen Korey, VP of Communications of MetroHealth. "So we created the Miracles and Hope campaign, and the MetroHealth Wall of Hope, to build upon that brand of excellence in critical care."

CareTech provides the Chris Evert Children's Hospital with its CareWorks CMS(TM) content management system, a turn-key engine for building full-featured hospital Web sites. The Children's Hospital is part of the Broward Health System which is one of the 10 largest public health systems in the nation, with six medical centers and more than 30 facilities providing a full continuum of care to Southern Florida.

"We have a small department to support Web, but partnering with CareTech has been like adding a 10-person staff," says Diane High, Manager of Website and Publications for Broward Health. "As this award shows, we have been able to achieve significant success with our online marketing."

"Receiving this recognition is a great honor for CareTech Solutions," said Chris Catallo, director, Web products and services with CareTech Solutions. "These wins further exemplify the value our customers receive from Web products and services that were developed in direct response to our clients' needs for enhanced communication, improved efficiency, and increased productivity in the hospital environment."

In addition to its CareWorks CMS(TM) content management system, Web design and Web strategy, CareTech Solutions' suite of Web products and services also includes communication portals for board members and physicians.

Entries in the Aster Awards were judged by a diverse panel of healthcare marketing experts. All winners are posted on the Aster Awards' website (www.AsterAwards.com), as well as published in Marketing Healthcare Today, a national healthcare marketing magazine.
