Capital BlueCross Receives Prestigious Brand Excellence Award From The Blue Cross & Blue Shield Association
Date:3/13/2008

HARRISBURG, Pa., March 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Capital BlueCross was awarded a Blue Cross & Blue Shield Association Brand Excellence Award for Member Recommendation, a category for achieving a high percentage of members who would recommend the plan to someone they knew.

The Brand Excellence Award follows Capital BlueCross recently being voted the leading health insurer in every 2008 Who's Who and People's Choice consumer preference survey in its region, including Harrisburg, Lancaster, York, Reading and the Lehigh Valley. Capital BlueCross won the consumer preference awards by a large margin over all other insurers, and has consistently won these awards for more than a decade.

"We are so pleased to receive the Brand Excellence Award for Member Recommendation, especially during the year we are celebrating our 70th anniversary of serving our communities," said Anita M. Smith, president & CEO of Capital BlueCross. "The Brand Excellence Award for Member Recommendation along with the Who's Who and People's Choice awards we have been awarded here in our region, are particularly meaningful to us because they express the views of the people we serve. We are proud that our members and the people of our region feel that Capital BlueCross is delivering the best value in health care coverage, service, and member satisfaction."

The annual award honors Blue Cross and Blue Shield companies that excel in developing and enhancing the overall image of the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Brands, some of the most recognized and trusted in the world. The Brand Excellence Award program began in 1995.
