HARRISBURG, Pa., Nov. 4 /PRNewswire/ Capital BlueCross announced the launch of the only Blue branded dental plan in central Pennsylvania and the Lehigh Valley, called BlueCross Dental. No specific date was set for the rollout of the new dental plan, but it is slated to be available to customers in 2009.

Offering a new dental plan was made possible after Capital BlueCross recently acquired a privately held dental corporation headquartered in Alexandria, VA. The move by the region's leading health insurer adds nearly 400,000 new members throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the Mid-Atlantic Region. Various regulatory approvals are required before the transaction can be finalized.
